BIOGRAPHY
Originally from Auckland, New Zealand, with Maori Whakapapa heritage, Sophie Vincent is a London based actor, writer, producer and graduate from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and The Stella Adler Studio.
Sophie was most recently seen in the one woman show SCAPE at COLAB Tower in London, which was a part of the 2025 SIDE/STEP Festival. Previously SCAPE was seen at the 2025 Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and received a highly praised review from The Scotsman. Sophie co-created the show with long time collaborator Kyndall Sillanpaa; the two co-founded the production company POPE JOAN in 2025. Sophie is currently in development with POPE JOAN as a creator and writer on the project MARIE, a play about Marie Antoinette through the lens of modern womanhood in the digital age, where she is set to play the titular role. She is also currently re-developing SCAPE for a run at The Tank NYC in the Fall of 2026.
She previously starred in the 2024 Edinburgh Festival Fringe play IF I ONLY COULD which originally opened in Off-Broadway in 2021 at Playwrights Horizons in New York. The show's Edinburgh run received immense praise from audience and critics, including an outstanding 5 star review from the Indiependent.
In film, Sophie can be seen in Sam Coppola’s ONE WEEK MORE which she also co-wrote, Will Martinko’s 06/02/2022 as well as That’s Fantastic Films! THE CHAIN, Jennifer McCabe’s THE RADISH which was an official selection at the 2022 Berlin Indie Film Festival and Alyssa Rallo Bennett’s short film series THE THEFT OF ART.
Not only has Sophie found success in front of the camera, but she also maintains a strong theatre background having performed as the lead in productions of Matt Dickson’s BRONTE, Angela’s Vitale’s THE WINTERS TALE, Caryl Churchill’s VINEGAR TOM, Nick Payne’s CONSTELLATIONS and Jessica Swale’s BLUE STOCKINGS.
Sophie’s body of work has been applauded internationally having had spotlight articles in New Zealand's leading Newspaper The New Zealand Herald and a two page spread in the UK based Clast Magazine about her work in SCAPE, as well as being recognized as a standout rising star by Verve Magazine who did a three-page spread on her career and trajectory in their April 2021 issue, naming her “one of Aotearoa’s most promising creatives”.
Sophie is also a classically trained singer, having completed all grades of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music’s exams with distinction. She’s sang all over the world including prestiges venues such as Carnegie Hall and Windsor Castle.
She has the eligibility to work in the United Kingdom, United States, New Zealand and Australia.
